Voice controlling a synth

Hi everyone,

my instrument is the voice...

now...

if a guitarist want to extend his creativity to other instruments (like Pat Metheny for example) can connect a guitar midi interface to a synth and cotnrol a synth with the guitar.

Is there anything that could allow me to control a synth using the modulation of my voice to produce midi events (or something like...) for the synth, so I can emulate a trumpet, a sax, a clarinet.. etc...
